JQ: Killer must have crystals hanging on the back of her car like JP!!!!
Scott-ST Moderator: So no one in the room is going to the Traders Expo in November?
Killer: crystals? why's that?
Cale: LOL
Cale: LMAO
Allende: Can you explain or even consider a webinar on how to scan for type B trades that meet your criteria. There are many gappers each day that break highs/lows. Is it the 5 ema that makes the difference and, if so, how do you scan for them? Also, and killer can attest, with TS securities, I can't use a 5 ema (with accurate readings) on an intraday chart--ony DAILY. Howe can I use daily 5, 20 and 50 emas for Swing Trade strategy--or does it have to be on an intra day chart?
Killer: <-- missing something
Cale: OMG, i am now really laughing hard
Cale: LOL
Cale: Yes Killer you are missing Crystals as you are a (she)
Killer: aaaaaaahhhhhhhh
JQ: Now I'm on the Floor LMAO!!!
Killer: lucky for me, yes I am (missing them, I mean)
Killer: :)
Scott-ST Moderator: Allende, we look for stocks that has good volume, Gapped from very Recent Trading Range
Cale: me too
Cale: Ribs are hurting
Scott-ST Moderator: you can have Cales since he doesn't use them Killer
Killer: LOL
Cale: OMG, I can't stop
Killer: LMAO
Killer: Scott, that's very generous of you
JQ: Killer you have a form of crystals the proof is that YOUR SUPERMON!!!
Scott-ST Moderator: Allende, you can use the 5 20 and the 50 EMAs for any type of trading
Killer: supermoN?
JQ: MON =MOM
Killer: :)
Cale: LOL, Oh my, oh and btw Killer, nope, cant have em
Cale: wife already has em
Killer: JQ, if you only knew the juggling that goes on here
Killer: between the kid and the trading...
Killer: Cale LOL
Cale: I know I understand Killer, was in the same boat for the 1st 2 years with my 1st
JQ: Been there Done That...It seems hard now but some day you will look back and CHERISH every MOMENT!!!
Cale: Just wait until you have to deal with Swim lessons, Soccer, dance, school, b-day partys, the list goes on and on
Cale: agree JQ,
JQ: LOL Calebo!!

Killer: we also need this for my in-laws
Killer: they live in Europe
Killer: so we send photos, and now video
Buster: how old are your kids Killer?
Killer: Buster, I just have one. She is 4.5 months old.
Killer: how about you?
Killer: any kids?
Scott-ST Moderator: Allende did you get your Question Answered?
Buster: 5 kids
Killer: Wow!!!!!
Buster: 8 Grandkids
Killer: awesome
Cale: ah cool, Buster is a grandpa
Killer: you must be crazy busy
Buster: not these days, been looking for a hobbie
Buster: found day trading about 2 years ago
Killer: How is it going for you so far?
Buster: love the grandchildren but its just as nice to give them back after a few hours
Buster: doing okay, hope to see if I can learn hear
Scott-ST Moderator: Well if you have Any Questions just pop them out there.
Scott-ST Moderator: We will be doing a Webinar Training on Tuesday of next week during Lunch
Scott-ST Moderator: BRB, bio break
Killer: This is a good place for that. Everyone is willing to share their experience/expertise
JQ: calebo look at FOX!
Cale: huh
Cale: wow, no BUSH
Allende: Scott: yes/no: I do use the 5, 20, 50 emas on daily charts becasue they are totally innacurrate on TS charting on intrad day charts. However, according to ST video on day trading, I believe you use the intra day moving average--not daily. Also, I wanted to know how to scan for stocks that meet the ST criteria since there are so many gappers that aapear to meet breakinb above/below HOD/LOW. Nevertheless, you are much more selective in your stock picking. I assume it is based, in part, on intradday moving average charting???
JQ: wb
Scott-ST Moderator: lets break it down 1st Allende, what do you mean the EMAs are totally innacurrate on intra day Charts?
Allende: check out the divergences between the dow (and overall market) and the Q's. Maybe this would be a good time to short the Q's with a tight stop?

Scott-ST Moderator: we will reevaluate that one
Scott-ST Moderator: maybe we can get a pull back
Allende: Getting back to you on the EMS, Scott. If you put an exonential moving average on an intraday chart, using TS software, the lines are WAY above or below the current price. In other words, its useless. However, on a daily chart, the moving averages are acccurate.
wizeman: Still in PTR. Continues to trade up, but could plummet any second I know.
Scott-ST Moderator: Allende, how far is WAY above/below?
wizeman: I will cash out at 260 or stop at 255
Scott-ST Moderator: for the most part that is the case, give me an example
Cale: hummm, wizeman is talking to another Room??
JQ: LOL
Allende: Are you asking me for an example Scott?
Scott-ST Moderator: yes, on a 5 min chart what do you have as 5 20 50 EMAs for AAPL
Scott-ST Moderator: wb anatta
Scott-ST Moderator: can anyone else give me your EMA for AAPL
Cale: I have 178.88 for the 50 EMA
Cale: err 170.88
JQ: 172.3
JQ: 171.6
Jen: 171.86
JQ: 170.7
Jen: 171.57 is 20
anatta: ty Scott
Jen: 170.86 is 50
Killer: at 11:45 I have 171.53, 170.84, and 171.85
Allende: Scott: the 5 exponential is above 180; the 20 is 171.58.
JQ: 172.3 171.6 170.7 LOL
Killer: Allenede, my 5 is not above 180
Scott-ST Moderator: ty JQ
Scott-ST Moderator: wow Allende, you need to call TS and ask them how to fix that
Scott-ST Moderator: and your on a 5 min chart?
Scott-ST Moderator: you really should be using these EMAs to help your Trading
Allende: The 50 ema is 170.94---yes 5 minute chart. I've called tech support at TS and they confirmed, twice, that there is no fix. EMAS only accurate on DAILY charts--not intraday.
Killer: Allende, I have it accurate (I believe) on the intraday
Jen: switch platforms, you can't daytrade without accurate charts
chuck: ? Allendale TS = Tradestation?
Killer: on TS
Scott-ST Moderator: okay thats about right for the 50 EMA
chuck: some of the differences above may also be attribuatalbe to how your session start and end times are defined
Jen: I don't think that's possible on an intraday 5 minute chart
Scott-ST Moderator: yea chuck TS is Trade Station
Scott-ST Moderator: it seems that Allende has the right EMA number for the 50 now
Jen: yeah, but his 5 min 5 ema was 180
Allende: Lets ask KILLER since he uses TS--Killer, can you chime in?
Cale: sounds like the EMA is not set correctly
Scott-ST Moderator: who else is using TradeStation?
Killer: Here are my values: 171.71, 171, 172.15
Killer: 171.71 is the 5, 171 is the 20, and 172.15 is the 50
Jen: your 20 ema is less than the 50?
JQ: not bad
Killer: Jen, yes
Killer: oops
Killer: other way
Scott-ST Moderator: I have 5=172.12 20=171.70 50=170.99
JQ: 171.6 170.3 169.9 LMAO
Killer: LOL
Jen: who's on first?
Allende: Killer: do you get accurate emas using INTRADAY charts with TS charting?
Killer: I'll do this again: 172.14, 171.71, 171
Scott-ST Moderator: Chuck is right, kinda, if you are taking into account Pre/Post market values you will get a bit different number
Scott-ST Moderator: you should be using just the Day Session numbers
Killer: Allende, the #s I quoted above are from the intraday chart
Jen: on a 5 minute chart?
Killer: and they are right around where Scott's # are
Scott-ST Moderator: those look good killer
Killer: intraday 5 min hart
Killer: chart
anatta: Gotta go. TY Scott!
Scott-ST Moderator: later anatta
JQ: wb
Jen: bye
Killer: Allende, I think Chuck is right - the problem may be your start and end times for the session
JQ: OK!!! I have a question Allende are your EMA's SET??
Killer: brb
Scott-ST Moderator: brh
JQ: wb
Allende: what do you mean by "set"
chuck: using TS my numbers were slightly off Scott's when i was using pre-market, when i switch to regular session, they agree with Scott
JQ: settings on charts
Allende: I only use regular session. I will speak to TS tech support, again.
chuck: regardless of session times though, your 50 ema shouldn;t be above 180
Scott-ST Moderator: very True Chuck, I think a call to TS support is the best call
Scott-ST Moderator: a good example of how to use the EMA's is looking at the FITB 5 min chart
Scott-ST Moderator: note how the price is using the 50 ema as resistance and the 5 ema as support
JQ: laters Gang the Great Outdoors is calling...GJ... G. Scott!!!!!
Scott-ST Moderator: FITB is testing the 5 min to the down side and then will use the 20 ema as next support
Scott-ST Moderator: TC JQ
Scott-ST Moderator: once the 5 and 20 EMAs are broken they will be come resistance again
Scott-ST Moderator: same setup with ADSK and the EMAs
Scott-ST Moderator: okay now that the markets are moving lower note how FITB has moved below the 20 and 5 ema
Scott-ST Moderator: I would suggest a stop for FITB at 31.26, the high of the last swing point
Buster: good info Scott, thanks, i can see that now
Scott-ST Moderator: good job Buster
Scott-ST Moderator: I have to admit, with Kids and reading a lot of kid books, I think of the Bunny Buster from Marc Brown's Books Aurther when I see your name
Cale: LMAO Scott, know just what your talking about
wizeman: PTR now up to 264. Shouldn't have sold I guess
Scott-ST Moderator: did you go broke taking Profit?
