JP It depends on what you want. LCD is cheaper than Plasma but LCD is not quite as strong in overall picture quality, especially when it comes to blacks.
t2t i like my picture - however, if the room has a lot of light, not so good
JP The 1080p Pioneer Elite Plasma would be my dream set right now but I'm not spending $7k on a 50" set when I can get a 52" Sony Bravia XBR3 for a tad over $4k that is very close in picuture quality to the Pioneer.

JP 720p is technically superior to 1080i but if you were looking at 2 images, 1 in 1080i and 1 in 720p I doubt you would be able to tell the difference.
