seven7: good morning
JQ: GM Ken
air23: how much tax do u guys pay in the US for profits from trading? any good reports from alliance?
bullmarket: would you not pay on your personal tax rate as it's a progressive tax system.
bullmarket: Here in Canada...if you trade for an income...than it is simply taxed as regular income....and than you are allowed your deductinos...ie. member fees, trade fees, computer ect.
bullmarket: I would assume it is the same in the states as here in Canada
Jen: he's in Australia
bullmarket: oh....in Australia trading income is not taxable ;)
Scott-ST Moderator: what?
Scott-ST Moderator: Trading income is not taxable in Austrailia?
bullmarket: KIDDING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jen: lets move to Australia!!!

Daily Chart: Below the 5 day EMA, Stochastics in downtrend
Hourly Chart: Downtrend with 20 EMA below the 50 EMA
5 min Chart: Downtrend with 20 EMA below the 50 EMA

Futures are currently down 2 points. The overall market trend is sideways to down. We suggest traders keep trades to a minimum and to the conservative side until the middle of January. Trading action is anticipated to be very slow and choppy.[/b]

bullmarket: Just be a good boy and claim the income....
bullmarket: regardless of the geographic location of your trading

Ken-ST Moderator: technically, from your standpoint air, the US is no different than a tax free country.

Ken-ST Moderator: it is where you are a resident/citizen of
bullmarket: trusting your are in fact a citizen of a country that has a tax system in place....if your trading and living in the caymans...than you would pay based on the cayman system trusting you do not reside any portion of the year in your home country
Scott-ST Moderator: gm nm
bullmarket: right Ken...you would need to be a resident of this non-paying country
Scott-ST Moderator: okay Gang Here we go!!!

bullmarket how does CACH look Ken?
Scott-ST Moderator: still has an up Momentum
Ken-ST Moderator: I would like to leave a larger stop, but with the market the way it is we will play it tighter on the long side right now
air23 im confused, if we bought HOTT @ 11.14 and sold @ 11.02 how is it positive 1.08% profit
Scott-ST Moderator: we sold HOTT
bullmarket do the math...= 1.08 in the positive
Scott-ST Moderator: we shorted(sold) HOTT at 11.14
samj not bought short hott
Circa63 we sold it at 11.14 at bought it at 11.02
bullmarket where do you guys see CACH going....support?
Scott-ST Moderator: check out the message/Alert at 9:44
Scott-ST Moderator: I see CACH going up to 22.01
Ken-ST Moderator: its trading at its 5 EMA after initial surge
limey It dropped 2% and I stopped out
Ken-ST Moderator: its a volatile stock
bullmarket when you originally placed the alert....your suggested stop on the left...it did hit it....no?
Jen yes, selling first and buying it back after price drops
Ken-ST Moderator: initial stops are the lod
JP 21.31 wasn't the original stop.
bullmarket what did you have it as JP
bullmarket what was the LOD when the alert was triggered for CACH?
JP I didn't play that trade but if I remember correctly the initial stop was 20.99.
djg same as now
Ken-ST Moderator: 20.26
Ken-ST Moderator: that is the inital
Scott-ST Moderator: at 10:06 it was set to 20.99
Ken-ST Moderator: but we look to tighten up as quickly as possible
Scott-ST Moderator: and then moved to 21.31 where it is now
bullmarket so on the short and long alerts...the initial stop is the LOD or HOD ?
bullmarket until further notice more or less?
Ken-ST Moderator: yes
Scott-ST Moderator: correct bullmarket
Ken-ST Moderator
Scott-ST Moderator: like right now if we set a LOD Alert on TRAK the stop would be HOD, until we move it; wich would be quickly

JP blu-ray and HD-DVD have both been out since last summer.
Scott-ST Moderator: so I can buy a DVD player for either?
JP blu-ray does have stronger technical specs, more disc space but thus far most of the movies that have been released on both blu-ray and HD-DVD are superior on HD-DVD.
Scott-ST Moderator: and are their DVDs that take advantage of the new Tech?
Scott-ST Moderator: do you have one JP?
JP DVD's work in HD-DVD and blu-ray players but DVD's are only output at 480p resolution while blu-ray and HD-DVD are true high definition resolutions of up 1080p.
JP Not yet. I like the technology but there aren't any movies out yet that interest me.
JP I'll be buying a blu-ray player on 3/15 when Casino Royale releases.
Scott-ST Moderator: so Netflix doesnt have that tech as of yet I am guessing
Scott-ST Moderator: lol
Scott-ST Moderator: My guess is it will be big next Christmas season
JP I don't know if Netflix rents either format yet but these new formats won't play on regular dvd players.
Scott-ST Moderator: right, I know that
JP Just wanted to make sure. Some people think that HD-DVD discs will play in regular DVD players.
JP The Toshiba HD-DVD players are supposed to be pretty nice but thus far the blu-ray players that have hit the market haven't been that impressive. Lots of software problems.
kami has logged out
Scott-ST Moderator: that will kill a product very fast
Scott-ST Moderator: I would have to assume that the new players can play the older 480 DVD's
JP The biggest difference between HD-DVD and blu-ray is studio support. Universal is the only studio that is exclusive to HD-DVD while Disney, Sony/MGM (the largest library of movies) and Fox are all exclusive to blu-ray.
JP Yes they can. They upscale them as well so you will get some slight picture improvement by viewing old DVD titles through the high-def players.
JP If you want high def Pixar, Bond or Star Wars movies.....you are going to have to go with blu-ray.
Scott-ST Moderator: lol
Scott-ST Moderator: dont you think they would rebuild them if blu-ray booms?
limey Scott lets find some stocks to get our $ back we can,t end at -7.24%
Scott-ST Moderator: okay Limey, lets give that a try
Scott-ST Moderator: but we dont want to chase either
Scott-ST Moderator: I would hate to force a trade and see us get worse then 07.24
Scott-ST Moderator: BRB Gang
limey I just got an up convert DVD and its very good
limey Copied my old camcorder movies onto DVD and they look amazing
JP To see the full benefits of HD-DVD and blu-ray, you need a 1080p HDTV. That is holding a lot of people back because 1080p HDTV are just now becoming affordable.
