An advisory panel of the Food and Drug Administration is scheduled to hold a vote later today on whether to recommend Revlimid be approved to treat a type of anemia associated with myelodysplastic syndromes, a group of diseases whereby the bone marrow doesn't produce enough healthy cells.
According to Celgene, a vote is expected by 12:30 p.m. Eastern time. While the vote is not a final decision, the FDA generally always follows the recommendations of its expert committees
